How to Become a Fashion Stylist: In The Beging

So if you are following me on any of my social network  sites then you know that a while back I made a commitment to my followers that I would be sharing insight on how to become a stylist for Free! This came after a lot of people started asking me how they could get a started in the industry and what it would take to become a successful Stylist. So after a couple of small debates

I had a job to do and while waiting on set.. made use of my iPad lol.

The best revenge is... to live a "good" life... I mean a really, really, really good life.

I had a job to do: Glow Spa Advertisement

 

Here's a look at the Advertisement I styled for the Glow Spa.  Wow.  I love how the images I've seen so far have come out.  This shoot in particular was a long day- I had gotten so sick on this set and had gotten food positioning the night before. I had to shift through the fight of staying present and not letting the feeling of being ill get to me and executing the concept of the shoot i was hired for.

Sometimes we get so caught up in "Doing" that we forget to "BE". i.e. Be "well",  Be able to take "care" of ourselves and "Be" the health we need to Be in our lives to push through and stay creative and strong.  Listen noted! As a matter of fact I've taken a little time off to get back into shape and focus on giving little bit more to me and a lot more to others.  I'm so excited about some of the projects that I have coming up (Style wise) but I'm even more excited that I've learned  remembered what the universal law of giving is which is truly giving to yourself first so that you can give just as much if not more to others.  Matter of fact, before my next gig.. I just might have to go ahead and book a spa day. :)

My New Store:
ShopToye.bigcartel.com is my new babe!  I've actually been Thinking about it for quite some time after I sold out of the Circa Shop.  I mean here I am a fashion stylist with left over inventory from photo shoots and celebrity gigs that I'll probably never use again and I truly can't hold on to it all even if I wanted to.  So it finally clicked! why don't I just make it available to the true people that
follow my adventures in styling and actually dig my style!

Know I know these shorts (for example) aint for everybody, but, if your as creative as I am, then you'll know exactly how to put these bad boys to use.  I love denim shorts even in the winter, if you freak it right, you could throw them over some warm leggings and accessories with some killer knee-high boots and maybe a chunky scarf or over-sized chunky sweater.  Never be afraid to mix it up! Lights and darks.. texture and silhouette! (It works).  Well at least from my perspective...

GQ Fashion Spread with Kid Cudi

See now this is what I'm talkin' bout! This GQ spread with Kid' is swagger-rific! I'm excited that it's showing how hip-hop can cover all ranges of style and more importantly gives options for young men of color to look outside the box of "cool".

I think I'm going to need to go ahead and start subscribing since I seem to always be picking one up in the airport.
