Re-invent Yourself

I couldn't wait to show this shoot.  Mainly because it was soooooooooo fuuunnn to produce!!! My homie Alfred Collar is an amazing photographer and friend that allows me to bounce my ideas of off him.  So when I recently came up with the idea to do a night shoot he was all in!   We decided to risk our lives and journey to the hood since they have some pretty awesome backgrounds that serve as great visuals. (What?!) we're adventurous. lol..

But the best part about this shoot is that I got a chance to enjoy myself after a pretty full month.  I was a little stressed after Emmy's week because I'm in a space where I want A LOT more then what I've had in the past and I feel the growth of it.  Some things have been easier to accept than others during this journey, but ya' know what???!, this life is a movie and I  decided how I wanna produce it!

I mean sure there are going to be things out-side of my control or people that just won't understand my film.. but F#8K it! Your life is waiting for you and it only gets better when you decide to take responsibility for it. If your on a mission to re-invent your life like me, hold on tight and don't loose your faith your break through is right in front of you. :)

Teyonah Parris Styled by Toye (Emmy's Week)

I recently had the extreme pleasure of styling the beautiful Madmen and Dear White People actress Teyonah Parris during Emmy's week.  Check her out as she makes her rounds to some of the industry's exclusive events and Entertainment Weekly's Pre-Emmy's Red Carpet (all styled by me).

I love how Teyonah embodies her look and embraces that beautiful hair!!! She is on the up-and-up and I'm definitely looking forward to working with her more in the future.

Privacy Please

I can't help it! I've always been a private person by nature but I have to admit, blogging has really helped my let my guard down and show a different side of me.  You guys have seen me go through ups and some downs but more importantly, you've seen me become a little more human beyond what you see on my social networks and what my resume shows you in my Fashion Styling career.

Here's the thing, I always try to have my life be an opportunity to inspire and hopefully help others but I can't imagine having a perfect life in order to do so.  With everything that I've gone through its the struggles that have made my character shine! In the next few blog post (Even though it might be a little tough for me) I plan on share more outlook onto someone of the things I rarely let people know about me other than a few close friends.  Not sure how the response ma ybe but the truth of the matter is, I'm kinda doing this more for myself than anybody else.

I simply plan on and intend on being fair to myself and the audience I've come to know and respect. (I can't imagine having it any other way and still maintaining my authenticity). My only hope is that with every blog post I share.. whether it be through life experience or personal style that "you" and "I" continue to grow and learn from our past so that we can jump into a brighter future!
